VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT’S
VISION FOR FISHERMAN’S BEND

On 16th September 2013, the Premier and the Minister for Planning released the Fishermans Bend Urban Renewal Area Draft Vision and Interim Fishermans Bend Design Guidelines for community engagement.

The Fishermans Bend Urban Renewal Project includes approximately 250 hectares of land to the west of the CBD and is intended to be home to more than 80,000 residents and a workplace for 40,000 people over the next 40 years. Four new precincts have been designated in the area: Montague, Lorimer, Wirraway and Sandridge.

A series of events and opportunities to take part in the engagement process will be available over the next eight weeks, including community information forums and a drop in kiosk. Written submissions can be submitted via email fishermansbend@places.vic.gov.au or by post to Places Victoria, GPO Box 2428, Melbourne 3001.

Copies of the reports and further information is available on the Places Victoria website.

Strategic planners at David Lock Associates assisted the City of Port Phillip in determining their vision for the Montague Precinct. If you would like to know more about the draft Vision, please contact our strategic planning team on 9682 8568.
